The Masters Is Over… It’s Time To Golf !

by Dave Bisbee on April 12, 2011

60801473Has everyone recovered from what just might be the most exciting Masters since Nicklaus won his last Green Jacket? This years event had something for everyone. A great showing for Freddie Couples hanging with the young guns until his back gave out.

Tiger giving us all a bit of a thrill with an amazing front nine…only to come back to earth with a very average back nine. Luke Donald trying to do what no man has done before… win the par 3 event… then the tournament.

I enjoyed watching Adam Scott work his way into the front even if he does look a bit odd with the long putter at his age. And can you imagine the line of sports psychologists/therapists that will be at poor Rory McIlroy’s locker to help clean up the mess. It looked like a scene right out of the Body Snatchers… it looked like Rory but I’m sure he felt like someone else had invaded his body. He’s young and hopefully will have a short memory and a long career. Now on to the subject at hand.

The Biz Golf Guru Takes His Game On The Road

I will be heading to the Lone Star state this week. Dallas to be exact to do an Executive Golf School with my partners from Strategic Solutions International. We are doing the school at Las Colinas which is a fantastic golf venue. We will be hosting a group of invited executives from Dallas area companies and showing them how to improve not only their golf swings but also delving into the game between their ears.

Golf becomes the medium to identify individual strengths in terms of personality and how to harness those characteristics that make someone successful in business to do the same in golf. We also identify the individual triggers of stress then teach strategies to better manage how someone reacts to stress so they don’t pull a McIlroy… sorry about that. We call this strategy a Mental Mulligan… and Rory sure could have used one.

It’s a full day of enlightenment and a little hard work, but the net effect is learning more about yourself and your golf game and discovering how to combine business and golf.

A Meeting Of The Minds In Big D

While in Big D I will be hooking up with some of my BGG compatriots. Scot Duke aka Mr. Business Golf and Krista Kramer-Hartman of She Kan Kompany will be hosting a little gathering after the golf school. There will be some lively discussion about all things business golf and an opportunity for people to network and meet some of the personalities behind all of this. So if you are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area come and find us Thursday evening. Drop me a line and I’ll give you directions. That’s it for now. Y’all take care.
